Can there be a more regal setting for a round of golf? Set within the royal grounds of Home Park, where Henry VIII once hunted deer, Hampton Court Palace Golf Club is a unique venue, both for golf and social get-togethers, with an acclaimed 18 hole course, featured in Golf Monthly’s Must-Play Courses, and an avid, friendly membership.

In the footsteps of Henry VIII

In keeping with the natural beauty of our course and giving that genuine feel for your practice, we have a grass tee driving range that can accommodate a dozen people at a time. We also have a short game practice area and a separate putting green in front of the clubhouse. Trolleys and buggies are available to hire from the pro shop, at discounted rates for members, and there are lockers for non-members to hire too.

Course highlights

The 5th is a par 5 measuring 555 yards, a good testing hole that dog-legs from left to right beyond the reach of your tee shot. The sensible second shot is up to the corner, giving you a good sight of the green with the beautiful Hampton Court Palace in the background. You can, however, chance your arm with a corner-cutting second to get on in two if you think you’ve got the length, control and course knowledge.

Great views of the palace and the deer that roam the park.

The 8th is the hardest hole on the course of all the par 3s. If the wind’s against you it’s a monster. You must be right on the button with your tee shot to give you a chance of hitting the green. Even then you have to steer a course between a circle of bunkers surrounding the green. Get your par here and it will feel like a birdie.

Plays like a Links Course

The 16th is our signature hole, a 409 yard par 4 that provides a test on all elements of the game. You need a good drive, taking care to avoid the bunker down the right hand side. Next you require a precise approach shot, over a bunker on the front left of the green and stopping on the right level of a two-tier green. Chances are you’ll have a difficult putt, making a par on this hole a good score.

what others have to say

“I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you and your team for looking after us so well yesterday. You were extremely organised and everything was ready and prepared for our arrival which enabled us to concentrate on hosting our guests so a huge thanks for that. Please can you pass our thanks on to your bar staff and chef who were amazingly efficient. We had fabulous, cheerful service and nothing was too much trouble which was much appreciated. We have received numerous thank you messages from our customers who were very complimentary about the club and your staff” – A.S
